This book is a hilarious take on Greg's life during valentine, moreover, this book is a tat-bit different from all the other books, because this one takes us to Greg's past like not past but PAST as in all the way over here...

His childhood struggles are a real deal, the story also dives into manny's(his little brother) childhood and tells how INTELLIGENT kid manny is. Let's just try and not point any fingers here, shall we?

UNCLE OF THE YEAR

It then throws light on BUSINESSMAN of the year Greg's uncle Gary; he wanted some money from Greg's dad and was also staying with them. He quickly became part of the family, like a little too much, so much that along with Greg and his elder brother, his uncle too started taking allowance from Greg's mom.

But the big deal of the book is valentines week at Greg's school. Now no matter
how dumb uncle Garry acts you have to hand it to the guy that he had been married four times; what better guy to ask for advice on women. so Greg asks him how to invite someone for valentine, he said Greg needs a wingman and you guessed t folks Greg's wingman was Rowley.
Rowley runs for social club president and a lot of crazy things happen in school(like a teacher getting pantsed and stuff you know)

l club But apart from that everyone was focused on the idea of valentines day dance. Greg, Rowley and Abigail (a girl from their class) decided to go as a group. the group then diverges into how Greg Heffley tries to avoid Rowley chicken which apparently wasn't even there. How a middle schooler struggles in making a girl happy and how the whole middle school suffers for just having a peaceful dance. The DJ in their school dance turns out to be uncle Garry who uses the DJing money to buy scratch cards and wins 40k dollars, so he moves out of their house. Unfortunately, Greg gets chickenpox and has to take at least a weeks leave. As for Rowley. He gets paired up with Abigail (yup the best wingman). In the end, it is just good old Greg, his bathtub and a peaceful bubble bath.
